Feminist Theory

What is Five Minute Feminist Theory?

A video series that explores feminist theory and feminist concepts through different texts. I am currently on hiatus while I'm moving.

Where’s the syllabus?

Great question – it’s a working syllabus. I want people watching to have a say in what readings and concepts I cover. Plus, I want to be able to go back and talk about concepts and texts after I’ve heard back from people. For now, scroll to the bottom of this page to see what my current plans are.

What texts are being used?

Same answer as above. But some that I want to use are listed below. I’ll also include non-academic texts to help illustrate concepts. Also because some articles are super inaccessible.

What is the point of this?

I think anyone whose interested in feminist theory should be able to learn more or, at the very least, have an entry point into what to read. I haven’t found a good non-academic place for feminist theory so I’m making one.

How are you (Amanda) qualified?

I’ve got a couple degrees (BAs in Women’s Studies and English (Communication Media) from Indiana University) but anyone can be a feminist. Knowledge should be accessible!
